The Girondin coast by bike – from Soulac to Arcachon

The Atlantic coast can be discovered by bike, from Soulac to Arcachon, discover its remarkable landscapes. Along the seaside resorts, take the time to savor the ocean spray. Stops on the beach are more than recommended!

Stages: Bordeaux – Soulac – Lacanau – Cap Ferret – Arcachon
About 160 km – 3 days

Departure from Saint Jean station in Bordeaux (line 42 also stops at the stations of Pessac, Mérignac-Arlac, Caudéran, Bruges, Blanquefort….). Embark the bikes to Soulac, or even to the Pointe de Grave (about 2 hours of travel).

This route crosses the seaside resorts of Montalivet-les-Bains, Hourtin, Carcans, Lacanau and Le Porge, before reaching the peninsula of Cap Ferret, gateway to the Bassin d'Arcachon. Between maritime pine forests, fishing villages and oyster ports, the route ends in Arcachon, but can be extended with a stage towards the Pilat Dune, highest dune in Europe.

Strong point: This course, the Girondine part of The Velodyssey, is completely secure, signposted from end to end and accessible to all. It takes 70% of greenways.
