There are more than 100 “Accueil Vélo”© service providers in Gironde, meet one of them, Alain Juzeau, creator of Cycles du Canal in Castets-et-Castillon, in southern Gironde.
Things are rolling for Les Cycles du Canal. Opened to the public barely a year ago (April 1, 2016), this bicycle rental, repair and transport company has already doubled its fleet! Nearly 100 bicycles (including 20 electric), tandems and child trailers are now available for hire.

The keys to the success of Les Cycles du Canal?
- an on-demand bicycle repair and transport service. Convenient for group outings!
- a privileged location on the banks of the Canal de Garonne, near the greenway of the Canal des 2 Mers à Vélo. An ideal starting point for bucolic walks along the banks of the Garonne or towards the vineyards of Graves and Sauternes (Alain also offers several thematic circuits with GPS).
The walk to do with the family this summer
From Castets-et-Castillon to Meilhan-sur-Garonne. 40 km round trip.
Your program? Pedal under a canopy of plane trees, watch the boats pass through the locks, admire the bridges spanning the canal and then dismount to stroll through Meilhan-sur-Garonne, where you can have lunch (or picnic) while enjoying of an exceptional panorama on the valley of the Garonne. On the way back, a well-deserved cool break at the Fontet nautical stopover (swimming lake, games for children, etc.). So don't forget your bathing suit!

At the end of the year, Alain sells his second-hand electric bikes (made in France): 30% less than their purchase price!
