Go through the door with pale green shutters and sit on the terrace of the Cabane du Mimbeau, an oyster hut in the south of the Cap Ferret peninsula in the Mimbeau conch.
Denis Bellocq welcomes you there all year round and is happy to introduce you to his farm, which has existed for more than 70 years (a guided tour is possible by prior reservation).
Facing the Bassin d'Arcachon, you can see the Ile aux Oiseaux on your left, and the Dune du Pilat on your right. In front of you, a few pinasses glide on the water, while on your plate all the ingredients of a most typical tasting are grouped together: oysters coming directly from the Banc d'Arguin or the Grand Banc on the Île aux Oiseaux, accompanied as it should be with lemon, buttered bread, pâté and a glass of dry white wine. Rest and change of scenery guaranteed!
