In 1972, Pierre Meslier bought Château Raymond Lafon and its 18 hectares of Sauternes vineyards. This former manager of the Château d'Yquem, his illustrious neighbour, rigorously applies the traditional recipes for producing a great wine. The grape flourishes in the microclimate of this left bank of the Garonne under the watchful eye of the Meslier family.
Do you know Botrytis cinerea? Commonly called "noble rot", this fungus develops in particular thanks to the presence of Ciron. Your guide explains how this phenomenon is sublimated through winemaking. Equally fascinating: the visit of the humid cellars, perfect for a good extraction of perfumes. After tasting a vintage of Château Raymond Lafon, change the scenery by descending the Ciron in a canoe, an ideal outing for the whole family!
