Chateau Guadet is a vineyard in Saint-Émilion in the Bordeaux region.
This vineyard is located on the high limestone plateau of "Saint-Émilion" 50 meters from the city gates.
His name comes from the Guadet family, Élie Guadet, a native of Saint-Émilion, was a lawyer and a Girondin deputy, he became famous during the French Revolution. He would have hidden with his companions in the magnificent cellars that run under the property. He was guillotined in 1794. The main street of Saint Emilion where the property is located bears his name. His effigy is on the label and thus perpetuates his memory. Today Guy Petrus Lignac, little nephew of Marie-Louise Loubat, founder of the famous Petrus, manages the vineyard. Château Guadet Saint Julien has belonged to the family since 1844. The vineyard located at the gate of Saint-Émilion called “Porte Bourgeoise” is managed by Guy Petrus Lignac.
