From Monday to Friday, free visit (reservation required).
Weekend, by reservation.
Take part in the Sauternes-Barsac appellation Open House weekend in November.

Founded in 1709 by Romain de Filhot, adviser to the parliament of Bordeaux, Château Filhot covers 350 hectares, 60 of which are in the Sauternes appellation. 40 km south of Bordeaux, Count Henri de Vaucelles cultivates in Sauternes a wine classified 2nd Grand Cru in the official register of Bordeaux wines of 1855. Admire the remarkable English-style park designed in 1845 by the landscape gardener Fisher and landscaped around the neoclassical castle.
The visit of the cellars is fascinating to understand the work of vinification of this wine with candied aromas. At tasting time on the garden side, talk about the favorite dishes of this gold-coloured wine, foie gras or even blue-veined cheeses... Then continue your journey in Sauternes on the banks of the Ciron: mills, bridges, fountains and other dovecotes punctuate the landscape.
