After visiting the famous abbey (National Monument), discover the Saint-Pierre church, two marvels of the Middle Ages, classified as World Heritage by UNESCO under the paths of Saint-Jacques-de-Saint-Pierre. Compostela in France. Crossing the village then leads you to the Roger Lapébie cycle path, which you will cross for a walk through fields, meadows where horses graze, vineyards and deciduous forests. On the way, enjoy some beautiful viewpoints over the abbey and the church of Saint-Pierre.

The walk begins at the parish church of Saint-Pierre surrounded by its medieval cemetery delimited by three crosses decorated with rich sculptures. The building has a very unique sculpted and painted decor from the XNUMXth century, which evokes the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. The rue de l'église Saint-Pierre allows you to reach the town, which has preserved its old houses. Note the market hall from the middle of the XNUMXth century, which adjoins the old town hall decorated with neoclassical architecture. Nearby is the old communal prison, considered the oldest in France. The piece of bravery is of course the abbey of La Sauve Majeure, which dominates the surroundings with its imposing mass.
