Stages: Bordeaux – Libourne – Saint-Émilion – Bordeaux
About 62km.
Departure from Bordeaux Saint Jean station (TER Line 33 Bordeaux – Bergerac – Sarlat), embark the bikes, this journey begins in Libourne. Its renovated quays, the Clock Tower, the bastide with its market square are already worth a detour.
The small roads in the heart of the vineyards then take you to Saint-Emilion. After a visit to the village of Saint-Émilion, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its cultural landscapes, the itinerary continues towards Branne.
Be careful when crossing the RD 670. A stop on the banks of the Dordogne offers beautiful views.
On the way back, the Lapébie track leads to Bordeaux.
This section is part of the Scandiberic, with more than 1700 km, it is the longest cycle route in France and the French part of Eurovélo 3 linking Norway to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
Want to prolong the pleasure?
At the junction with the Roger Lapébie track, going east the track leads to Sauveterre-de-Guyenne. The route continues along small roads to La Réole (return by train possible).
