You will discover the Bassin d'Arcachon, a lagoon open to the ocean, which constitutes a small inland sea. Oyster farming, fishing and boating are the main activities in the basin. In its center is the "bird island" and its cabins on stilts.

Lacanau ocean / Le Porge ocean (14,6 km – Family level)

A pleasant stage of the Vélodyssée® on its own site between dunes and forest. It is necessary from time to time to leave the rail of the cycle path to take advantage of the rare connections to the sea and thus benefit from ocean landscape windows. Be careful on the Atlantic beaches! Then turn left, in the direction of Le Porge-Le Gressier, to the Lion beach car park where you will find a rest and reception area. Appreciate the landscape of twisted pines and the dune cord that stretches as far as the eye can see. Follow the direction of Le Porge by a beautiful asphalt track. Continue straight on to Gressier beach (left/right chicane). When you arrive at Porge-Océan, you will appreciate a well-deserved stopover. Continue to the right, direction La Jenny, on a beautiful new track.

Porge ocean/Lège Cap-Ferret (22,4 km – Family level)

You walk along the naturist domain of La Jenny. You reach Le Grand Crohot (km 55), a very busy beach in the Commune of Lège-Cap Ferret, where all the services you want await you.

Lège Cap-Ferret / Audenge (15,4 km – Family level)

The Girondine forests are fading, giving way to the city for this stage of the Vélodyssée around the Bassin d'Arcachon. Shortly after Lanton, we enter the territory of the Landes de Gascogne Regional Natural Park, which smells of iodized and authentic Aquitaine. Continue to a crossroads of tracks, where you continue straight, direction Andernos-Arès. On the right, begins the network of trails of the Cap Ferret peninsula. You can choose, if you wish to continue Eurovéloroute n°1, to take this network to reach the Bélisaire jetty towards the tip of Cap Ferret, where ferries will allow you to reach Arcachon and find the tracks of the South of the Basin. d'Arcachon. If you have chosen to continue straight ahead, you will come to a new intersection. Take the direction of Claouey before arriving at the connection with the Tour du Bassin d'Arcachon track. Cycling around the Bassin d'Arcachon, in complete safety, in all seasons, is possible. Follow the directions for the "departmental Lège-Biganos cycle path". stations at Arès, Andernos (km 25,5), Taussat, Cassy, ​​Lanton and Audenge. A little before Audenge, you will find on the right the indication of the Domaine de Certaine, a vast natural space owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral managed by the Departmental Council . Its old fish ponds have become a paradise for migrating birds. In season, naturalist guides will help you discover its riches. Your route allowed you to follow the interior of the stations and villages crossed. Know that at any time, you can reach the centers and the beaches and enjoy their entertainment.

Audenge / Arcachon (27,9 km – Intermediate level)

You soon arrive at Biganos (km 40), where you turn right to follow the road to Arcachon. Arrived at Teich, after having bypassed the nature relay of the Eyre delta (stop to find out about this area remarkable), you move away from the road and enter the village. Attention, follow the signs, the track borrowing sidewalks before crossing the railway. After one kilometer, at the roundabout, turn right towards Gujan-Mestras along the road. Another kilometer further on, at the foot of the water tower, the track heads off to the right between the houses. Follow the direction "cycle track Le Teich-La-Teste". You then follow this indication in urban areas, taking care at roundabouts and road crossings. You arrive on a path that sinks into a wooded park. Cross it and turn left towards La Teste-Biscarrosse. You will then come out at the edge of the Arcachon road on the embankment. Turn right and follow the road. Be careful, follow the indications to cross the various streets and road axes which follow one another over the next five kilometres. You will arrive at a roundabout from where the secondary road which leads to the Dune du Pilat starts. You can decide, starting from the right, to join Arcachon, famous seaside resort born in 1857 by the will of the Pereire brothers - shareholders of the Compagnie des Chemins de Fer du Midi - to make it a summer and climatic holiday resort. Don't miss a visit to the Ville d'Hiver, a historic 105th century district made up of a remarkable collection of bourgeois villas nestled in lush greenery. at the access car park to the famous site. The largest dune in Europe and its 218 meters offers you the most beautiful panorama you can dream of over the Bassin d'Arcachon, the ocean, the Banc d'Arguin at the water's edge and the Landes de Gascogne forest at loss of sight.
