You want to reach Bordeaux by bike from Saint-Emilion, or vice versa, it is possible thanks to the old railway line transformed into a cycle path and called the Roger Lapébie track, named after the winner of the Tour de France in 1937. This route of 49 km presents a main difficulty, a climb of 4 km between Branne and Guillac. (#11-12).

Your itinerary

Departure from the Saint-Emilion tourist office

Go past the Maison du Vin and the church gate, turn left and walk along the moat. Follow this small road surrounded by walls which winds through the vines.

Step 2

At the bottom of the descent, turn left and continue to the main road. At the intersection, turn right and continue to the D670.

Step 3

At the intersection with the D670, be careful and cross opposite in the direction of Branne. Continue on the D122 for 3 km.

At the give way, be careful and turn left towards Branne.

At the stop sign, be careful, and turn right on the D936 towards Branne. Cross the Branne bridge over the Dordogne and continue straight.

At the intersection with Route de Rauzan, continue on the main street. Turn left and go up towards Guillac on the D122 for 4 kilometres.

Cross the village of Guillac and at the stop near the church, continue straight in the direction of Faleyras.

At the crossroads, continue straight for 100 meters towards Faleyras, until you reach the cycle path.

Take the cycle path on your right towards Bordeaux. Stay on the Lapébie track for 27 km to Latresne.

Pass Latresne and at the end of the cycle path, take the road to the left.

Before the roundabout, take the cycle lane on the left to cross the roundabout. And continue ahead.

Pass in front of the LIDL and continue straight on using the cycle path.

Continue on the cycle path along the Garonne.

Leave the Allée du Bastard on the right and continue straight on the cycle path towards Bordeaux.

Pass under the Pont François Mitterand and continue straight on the cycle path.

Go along the D113 by the cycle path and always continue in the direction of Bordeaux.

At the level of the Saint Jean bridge, continue straight ahead on the cycle path.

At the level of the Pont de Pierre, you have arrived in Bordeaux. You can reach the city center by crossing the bridge.
