CANEJAN

The Etang d'Ornon on the edge of Canéjan and Gradignan is located on the edge of the Eau Bourde, behind the Château and the Moulin d'Ornon. It is a retention basin fed by Eau Bourde. This tree-lined route, along the Eau Bourde, invites walkers around its pond whose color (“Bourde” or cloudy water) is characteristic of alios, an agglomerate of sand and iron oxide. The pond, which acts as a spreading basin, collects rainwater from the House de Canéjan district.

The Balades à Roulettes® (BR®) are short, quiet walks, with a stroller or a small bicycle, or adapted for people with reduced mobility (in a wheelchair), offered by the French Hiking Federation of the Gironde.
