Cycling loop: Route of the Premiers Crus Classés
This 15 km loop with a fairly flat profile is for all wine enthusiasts who wish to catch a glimpse of the prestigious wine properties of St-Emilion. The route winds between the vines of these renowned castles located on the famous limestone plateau around the village.
At the corner of the Tourist Office and the Maison du Vin, take Rue des Ecoles towards the Tour du Roy.
At the end of rue des écoles (Porte St-Martin is on your right), continue straight on rue du Couvent.
Go behind the Tour du Roy and enjoy the view from the terrace. Then continue straight.
Go through the narrow passage of the old Porte Sainte-Marie. Then turn left and take the narrow alley.
Leaving the alley, go up Rue de la Madeleine to the right.
Pass in front of the entrance to Château Ausone and continue to climb on the stony path.
Get out of the path at Clos La Madeleine and continue straight to the stop sign
At the stop sign, continue straight in the direction of Château Canon.
At the crow's feet, facing the cross, follow the main street to the right.
At the stop sign at the bottom of the descent, turn left towards Château Angélus.
Pass in front of the Château Angélus and its bells. And keep going straight down for 1 km.
At the hamlet, turn right towards Château Arnaud de Jacquemeau.
At the intersection, near Château Franc Mayne, turn right towards Château Laroze.
You cross a busy road. At the stop sign, turn right then immediately left towards Château La Fleur Picon.
At the crossroads, turn left towards Château Bezineau.
At the crow's feet, go straight ahead and leave the Château Bezineau on your right.
Cross the place called Fortin following the road on the right.
At the crossroads, take the road to the left towards Château La Dominique. Continue to the intersection.
Be careful, you join the D245 which you take to the right. And pass in front of Château Cheval-Blanc.
At the crossroads with the D243, stop at the stop sign and take the opposite direction to Pomerol.
At the stop sign at Château Certan, turn right towards Néac and Lussac.
Go past Pétrus and continue on the main road.
After Pétrus, take the 1st road on the right, Chemin de Chantecaille towards Maillet
At the give way, leave Maillet on the left and continue straight.
Be careful, you join the D244. At the give way, turn left towards Château Corbin.
After Château Corbin, go down to the pavilion and take the road to the right towards Château Grand Corbin Manuel.
At the crossroads, turn left towards Château Grand Corbin.
At the intersection, pass the Châteaux Jean Voisin (on the left) and Chauvin (on the right) and continue straight.
At the crossroads, turn left towards Château de Rol.
At the intersection, facing the STVE panel, turn right and go up towards Château Moulin du Cadet. At the bottom of the descent, stop at the stop sign and turn right. Join the village of St-Emilion.
