From the tourist office, take the avenue de l'Océan towards the seafront. After 130 meters, you will notice the resort's market square on your left. During the summer season, nearly 200 stands take place here and on part of Avenue de l'Océan! If you pay attention, you will notice a wooden building towards the left of the square. This is the post office, built in 1961. The covered market has existed since 1957.

The waterfront

Continue on Avenue de l'Océan for 600 meters. Cross the Boulevard du Front de Mer, with caution. You arrive on a small esplanade surrounded by parking spaces. First of all, you can observe a column surmounted by a virgin (1868). According to legend, going around it would bring good luck! You can also see a bust of Jacques Laporte (1906), considered the founder of Montalivet-les-Bains, as well as a commemorative stele of Operation Frankton, an operation that saved the port of Bordeaux during World War II.
