Association of Guides of New Aquitaine

Created in 1983, the Association des Guides de Nouvelle-Aquitaine or AGNA (formerly AGICA) now brings together a hundred qualified guides, making their know-how and professionalism available.

The members are all holders of a professional card issued by the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Culture, which authorizes them to carry out guided tours in museums and historical monuments.

Calling on the Guides who are members of the AGNA means:

  • have as interlocutor an association of qualified and competent tour guides
  • have access to a directory of qualified guides, whose in-depth knowledge of the Aquitaine territory is constantly updated and enriched by continuous training.
  • find skills for several languages including English, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Russian…

The Association of Guides of New Aquitaine has a website for more information. The association created the brand My guide.

A partnership agreement with Gironde Tourisme

The 5 priorities of this agreement are as follows:

1 – Promotion of AGNA operations for the general public
2 – Highlighting the profession of tour guide in promoting the destination
3- Promote the discovery of the heritage of the Gironde department
4 – Promotion of the profession of tour guide with the partner networks of Gironde Tourisme
5- Evaluation of the guiding activity in the Girondin territories

As part of the guide training week organized each year by the Bordeaux Métropole Tourist and Congress Office, Gironde Tourisme offers a day of discovery of a territory of the Gironde.
