Camino de Compostela Home Label
The Gironde is, with Aveyron and Hérault, one of the three pilot departments for the experimentation of this approach with a national aim. The latter aims to enhance the quality of reception and services of these hosts. It also makes it possible to create links and animate a network of actors invested around this path, and thus provide collective responses to common problems.
Reception and accommodation are essential for the development and promotion of the Ways of Santiago de Compostela.
In order to promote good hosting practices and enhance the role of ambassador of the territory played by hosts, a host charter has been launched by the Agence des chemins de Compostelle in order to build a network between hosts, local authorities and associations and allow obtaining the label "Welcome to the Way of Compostela in France" to the hosts who would engage in the process.
To date, the label is deployed in Aveyron, Gironde, Hérault, Hautes-Pyrénées, Lot, Haute-Garonne, Aude and Tarn-et-Garonne.
This approach aims to create a dynamic and an adapted welcome for pilgrims on the French routes towards Compostela.
