In April, hotel occupancy in the Gironde in overnight stays stood at 92% of its pre-crisis level. The leisure clientele was there for the spring school holidays, and even more so than in 2019 (+6% overnight stays). This increase did not only benefit the coast: hotels in Bordeaux and in the interior of the department recorded respective increases of 14% and 17% in leisure overnight stays compared to April 2019.
But the deficit of business customers (-18% of nights compared to April 2019) continues to weigh, especially in Bordeaux and in the Urban Unit of Bordeaux where its share is usually decisive (61% and 70% of nights in April 2019).
