Discover the Entre-deux-Mers on the Ascension weekend

On May 26,27, 28 and 2022, XNUMX, the Gironde Departmental Cycling Tourism Committee is organizing a major meeting of cycling tourists in Sauveterre-de-Guyenne.
Every day, bike rides are offered over several distances to choose from which will allow the most seasoned and the curious to discover the riches of this territory. You can register for all three days or participate in the day.

Program of the bike weekend in Entre-deux-Mers

Every day, routes and must-see tourist attractions to discover.

Thursday May 26 – Meeting with the Dordogne River
Route 1: 66km, route 2: 87km, route 3: 113km
Discover Saint Ferme, Pellegrue, Rauzan and Blasimon.

Friday May 27 – A nod to the Garonne
It is Castelmoron d'Albret, Monségur, La Réole and Castets-et-Castillon that are available to you that day.

Saturday May 28 (Red) – The Pays de Benauge
And finally discover La Sauve, Sainte-Croix-du-Mont, Verdelais and Saint-André-du-Bois.

Join the event by bike from Bordeaux 

To reach the starting point of this cycling weekend in Entre-deux-Mers, you can take the famous Roger Lapébie track. This track is notably part of the itinerary Canal des deux Mers by bike and as well as Tour of Gironde by bike. You can thus reach Sauveterre-de-Guyenne from Bordeaux on a secure 54 km route.
With very little relief, this old railway line redeveloped for your relaxation allows you to connect Sauveterre-de-Guyenne to Bordeaux on foot, by bike, on rollerblades in complete safety.

A hiking program 

Do you want to vary the pleasures or take advantage of Entre-deux-Mers in a different way if you are accompanying? The hikers of Haut Entre-deux-Mers offer supervised hikes:

  • Thursday, May 27 (16 km – departure 9 a.m.). This day of hiking will make you discover part of the GR6. You will reach the Moulin de Pinquet which is the only water mill in Gironde to still produce flour.
  • Friday, May 27 (2 hours – departure 10:00 a.m.). For this second day you will discover in a theatrical way the streets of the Bastide of Sauveterre-de-Guyenne and one of the gates of the city with a guide from the Tourist Office. You will have the opportunity to climb on the roof of the Porte Saint Leger. 
    In the afternoon you will visit the cellar of Sauveterre-de-Guyenne.
  • Saturday May 28: (18 km – departure 9 a.m.). This day of hiking will make you discover the bastide of Blasimon and its abbey.
