With its 60 ha, 30 of which are wooded, the Bois de Thouars is home to a variety of flora and fauna. A botanical trail allows you to discover these environments through a marked 4 km route. The wood is now listed as a Classified Wooded Area and a natural area of national interest. It is located in the natural domain of the Atlantic oak grove of plains and hills, the pedunculate oak grove dominates there. Several species are rare or protected: Tauzin oak, bird's-nest neottie and marsh hottonie for plants and fisherman, pipistrelle and plum pike for animals. The Bois de Thouars is also a refuge area for common wildlife.
