Village of Flaujagues

Located on the left bank of the Dordogne, Flaujagues is renowned for its port which has experienced intense traffic in past centuries. This is evidenced by the very well-preserved slipway, built in the first half of the 1870th century, with a main quay and two inclined launching pads. Couraux and barges then transported wine, wheat and vines. Along the river, beautiful stone houses including mansions or bourgeois, deploy their facades. Close to the quays, the Clos Fourcaud is the old residence built in 1822 for the former mayor, a wine merchant. The Saint-Martin church, built in the XNUMXth century, replaces the old church destroyed by the Huguenots. The Protestant temple was built in XNUMX. The XNUMXth century town hall is topped with a clock and the square in front of it was established on the site of the old cemetery.
