Village of Bouliac

Bouliac, at an altitude of 76 meters, offers a remarkable panorama over Bordeaux and its metropolis. The village is old, since Gallo-Roman and Merovingian remains have been spotted there. With its preserved environment, it has retained a strong character thanks to its heritage which is now highlighted. The Saint-Siméon church, built in the XNUMXth century, is remarkable for its Roman sculpted decoration found inside the apse and on the portal with its beautiful arches. The church was fortified during the Hundred Years War. Bouliac also has elegant and old houses, among which are the Monjouan estate (XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries), the Vialle castel (XNUMXth century) and the Luber-Chaperon estate with its XNUMXth century charterhouse. The Hôtel Saint-James, with its aesthetic reminiscent of the tobacco barns of yesteryear, is the work of architect Jean Nouvel.
