Round (or curved) sheepfold in Goualade

At the end of the 230th century, nearly 20 sheepfolds of this type existed in the region. Today, only that of Goualade remains, which is the most remarkable. It has a masonry enclosure in alios rubble and limestone more than XNUMX meters in diameter. This type of building provided shelter at night for the herds of sheep, to protect themselves from bad weather and wolves, but also made it possible to collect the manure essential for the cultivation of a few hectares of poor soil near the smallholdings. The sheepfold is listed in the additional inventory of Historic Monuments.
