Latresne Windmill

French

This windmill is the only one in Latresne to have survived. Located at an altitude of 70 m, at the highest point of the surrounding hillsides, it could optimally take advantage of the winds coming from all directions.
As is generally the case in our region, it is a tower mill: made up of a tower built of rubble, it was surmounted by a roof that could be turned in the direction of the wind, which supported wings fixed to a horizontal axis. Note the two opposite doors placed on either side of the tower, to prevent the miller from being carried away by the wings when they turned.
