The Barrage flour mill in Porchères, built between 1847 and 1850, at the same time as a dam and a canal to divert the course of the Isle, is a large rectangular building which rests on four arches. The building was extended in 1863 with a commercial warehouse. The flour mill was modernized in 1920 with the use of two turbines replacing the old spinning wheels. In 1947, motors allowed the mill to operate in the event of drought. In 2002, activity ceased at the mill. During a visit, you can observe on three levels, a tangle of pulleys and various machines, in a setting where old pitch pine wood is omnipresent. This jewel of the department's milling heritage is listed in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments (2007).
The Moulin de Porchères is accessible by bike via the V90 which runs along the Vallée de l'Isle to the Dordogne.
