Domain of Beauval – Wind turbine of Bollée

The Bollée wind turbine, located on the Beauval estate in Bassens, is the fruit of the work of Auguste Bollée, hydraulic engineer. Renovated in 1995, it currently contributes to the watering of the estate.
This type of wind turbine, the Bollée wind turbine, was designed by Ernest Sylvain Bollée and was used to pump water. Today in France only about forty wind turbines of this type remain visible.
The wind turbine is also located in the heart of the Beauval estate, a site with a strong built heritage. In addition to the wind turbine, the site houses an XNUMXth century castle, a wash house, a farm, a vat room, a cellar, a greenhouse, a turret and an underground room.
