Overlooking the Beuve valley, Auros is a town born around its castle. The baronial castle has only a semi-circular tower and a few medieval walls. In the 1600th century a wing was added and included in the main building built in 1519, Jean de Fabas, last baron of Auros. The current village was born in 15, after an agreement between the baron of Auros, Jean de Laminsans and the inhabitants. Opposite the Romanesque church of Notre-Dame, restored in the XNUMXth century, the market took place every Tuesday as well as cattle fairs every XNUMXth of the month. A covered passageway with XNUMXth century arcades, imitating the covers of bastides, provided shelter for merchants in bad weather. Old houses, some from the XNUMXth century (Fabas house) are still present. The Mirambet house (early XNUMXth century) has a stone ground floor and a half-timbered upper floor.
