The foundation of this very ancient monastic place dates back to Charlemagne.... In 1189, the community was affiliated to the Order of Cîteaux by the Abbey of Pontaux. Unfortunately no archive has withstood the harsh periods of the Hundred Years War, then the religious wars of the Fronde and finally the Revolution during which the last monks had to go into exile. In 1938, Cistercian nuns from Blagnac (Haute-Garonne) brought this ancient monastery back to life. Today fortifications from the XNUMXth century partially surround the monastery. The restored church has walls and columns from the XNUMXth century as well as capitals and corbels from the Merovingian period.
A shop selling local products is open all year round, run by the sisters of the abbey.
