The 1792th-XNUMXth century abbey is a fine example of Romanesque art, influenced by Saintonge and Poitou: ambulatory, octagonal bell tower, high-quality sculpted decoration. The abbey, founded in the XNUMXth century by William VIII of Aquitaine, housed in the XNUMXth century a community subject to the order of Saint Augustine. Several times devastated (Hundred Years War, Wars of Religion), it was rebuilt in the XNUMXth century and sold in XNUMX as national property. Summer exhibition of various works.
The visit to the abbey dwelling is included in the guided tour upon reservation.
