In the heart of a colorful district of Bordeaux, the Flèche Saint-Michel with its 114 meters in height, is the second highest bell tower in France. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as with Saint-André Cathedral, it has the particularity of being separated from the main building of the Basilica of the same name.
Built in the 22th century, the Flèche Saint-Michel was restored in the XNUMXth century by the architect Paul Abadie, to whom Bordeaux owes the renovation of several churches. At that time, the campanile housed no less than XNUMX carillons as well as Chappe's first optical telegraph.
