Terra Aventura: More than one trick in its be'zas

A long, long time ago, in the 1st century of our era, a woman from Bazas undertook to go to Jerusalem... "The Matron", as people called her, witnessed the execution of Saint John the Baptist whose head was cut off... The legend then says that she succeeded in containing a few drops of her blood, in a silver conch.

How do you say, Zelle? A boiled egg ?

A "conch", my old Zacquet... It's a shell-shaped container! The Matron, back in Bazas, built a small oratory where she placed the relic of John the Baptist, who for the occasion became the patron saint of the city.

Very quickly, the oratory became a cathedral... Over the centuries, it was rebuilt and enlarged to form this magnificent monument!
