This singular space of more than 9000 ha is a military shooting camp. Little subject to agricultural and urban landscape upheavals, it is a place where areas of original marshy moorland remain. As a result, an original relictual Landes fauna and flora procession can be observed. Birds in open areas, whether wet or not, can be heard and seen, such as the skylark, the Eurasian curlew, the meadow pipits, the pitchou warbler…. But the most spectacular of them is the common crane, which takes advantage of the tranquility of the site to sleep there on cold winter nights from November to March.
The site is accessible with naturalist guides.
