The island of Patiras

The Gironde Estuary, the largest in Europe, has a series of islands. These islands have had multiple functions over time.
Opposite Pauillac, Patiras, which is said to have arisen in the Middle Ages, had a winemaking vocation, sheltered from phylloxera. Now extinct, the lighthouse offers from the top of its hundred steps, a very beautiful view of the Estuary.
The refuge adjoining the lighthouse, recently inaugurated, offers careful restoration in an architectural setting that enhances the environment in which it is inserted. Embark for Patiras from Pauillac and discover its nature and history. From May to October, a guided tour on the Garonne aboard a panoramic boat is offered. Then discover the natural landscapes of the estuary during the stopover on the island of Pâtiras. Also enjoy, if you wish, a lunch at the refuge.
