The Dunes and Marshes of Hourtin Nature Reserve covers 2150 hectares, presenting all the landscapes of the sandy Aquitaine coast: beaches, dunes, pine and holm oak forests, marshes and lakes!
The management of this space is entrusted to the National Office of Forests, whose personnel provide surveillance, scientific monitoring, as well as welcoming the public.
You can discover this site from the various pedestrian, equestrian or cycle routes (departures from Contaut, Piqueyrot and Hourtin plage).
Note the educational path of the Contaut lagoon where the visitor crosses the marsh on a superb wooden platform (platform accessible to motor and visual handicaps).
Guided tours are also offered free of charge throughout the year to schoolchildren and the general public: do not hesitate to register directly with Médoc Atlantique.
