Double Forest

The forest of Double covers an undulating and humid plateau where the trees have found a favorite domain. The Double forest is a mixture of deciduous trees and maritime pines, ponds and small streams which give it great diversity. The ponds are populated by carp and other fish, but also by turtles including the "European pond turtle", a species protected at European level. There are also many varieties of birds as well as mammals such as the squirrel or the very rare European mink. It is a preserved and unique forest in Europe and thanks to its many marked paths, it offers its visitors various possibilities of relaxation such as: hiking, cycling, horse riding, but also leisure with fishing and hunting without forget the leisure center of Saint-Christophe-de-Double.
